This Week's Dom's Digest
Hey everyone,
Here is the latest Dom’s Digest. A quick snapshot list of interesting stuff I’m enjoying or thinking about right now... Hopefully something here will be helpful to you as well!
Enjoy!
The Dilbert Principle by Scott Adams. Scott is the creator of the popular cartoon, Dilbert and it turns out quite the entrepreneur!
It's an inside view of bosses, meetings, management fads and other workplace afflictions.
Scott Adams examines bizarre and hilarious situations in the world of work with growing absurdity. In twenty-six provocative, illustrated chapters, Adams reveals the secrets of management in every company, including; swearing your way to success, faking quality, trolls in the accounting department, humiliation as a management tool, selling bad products to stupid people and more!
I really enjoyed reading this and picked up quite a few nuggets along the way (especially chapter 18 on meetings!)
Dark Tourist on Netflix. I’m really enjoying this first series which presents offbeat tourist destinations that you’ve never heard of!
From a nuclear lake to a haunted forest, journalist David Farrier visits unusual - and often macabre - tourist spots from around the world.
Not always for the faint hearted, but I’ve added a few to my list of experiences to try.
PortaPow 3rd Gen Data Blocker. This cheap device attaches in between your USB cable and socket to physically block data transfer / syncing while charging.
It allows charging without any risk of hacking / uploading viruses, can charge from an office PC even if USB socket has been disabled without breaking IT policy.
A great little security device worth keeping with you when out and about.
As always, I love getting your feedback on Twitter and email. Did you have a favourite from the list? Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for me to try?
Don’t be shy, let me know. Just send a tweet to @dcb_jones with #DomsDigest at the end so I can find it or you can email me at dominicj@barttech.co.uk to get in touch.
Have a great week!
