This Week's Dom's Digest

I hope you've had an awesome bonfire weekend!

We managed to not set our house on fire with a small firework display in the garden (although the bonfire did get quite high at one point) and as our well made guy went up in smoke I was glad I never wore those old clothes near a fire - they went up far too quickly...

Topped off with a professional display on Saturday with friends. Perfect weekend in my book. Let me know what you got up to?

By the way, thank you to everyone who has sent best wishes for my dad's heart operation. he came out yesterday and seems to be on the mend. Apologies if I've not replied back to you yet, it's been a manic time 🙂

Without further to do, here is your current Dom’s Digest. A quick snapshot list of interesting stuff I’m enjoying or thinking about right now. I hope you enjoy!

Book I'm Reading Again

Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert B Cialdini PhD

Influence, the classic book on persuasion, explains the psychology of why people say "yes"—and how to apply these understandings. Dr. Robert Cialdini is the seminal expert in the rapidly expanding field of influence and persuasion. His thirty-five years of rigorous, evidence-based research along with a three-year program of study on what moves people to change behaviour has resulted in this highly acclaimed book.

You'll learn the six universal principles, how to use them to become a skilled persuader—and how to defend yourself against them. Perfect for people in all walks of life, the principles of Influence will move you toward profound personal change and act as a driving force for your success.

I love this book. It teaches you so much about how people behave and how they are influenced by the things around us.

Gadget Keeping My Business Mobile

Huawei E5885 CAT6/ 4G+ Portable Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot with HUGE 6400mAh Battery and Power Bank – Unlocked to all Networks.

The only disadvantage to having location independent businesses like mine is the reliance of good quality Internet. To me the Internet is now a basic utility, like gas or electricity.

So when travelling I use this amazing device as a backup to existing WiFi or as my sole broadband access where WiFi isn’t available.

With it’s built-in 6400mAh, 25 Hour capacity power bank so you can charge your devices on the go and the ability to choose the best provider for your area, as the device is fully unlocked to all networks, this is probably the most useful tech I own.

I pair mine up with a Three Mobile Pay As You Go Mobile Broadband 24 GB Data SIM which so far has given me a reliable 4G signal everywhere I’ve been in the UK and abroad.

If you travel frequently or need a backup in case your broadband fails this is a device you should look at.
