This Week's Dom's Digest

How’s your week going so far?

Here we are in March and nearly the first quarter of the year is over…

Where has that time gone?

This week I am travelling a fair bit with meetings all over the country, adding team members to our fold.

We’ve also decided to proceed on some major investment opportunities that I was putting off which I’m not embarrassed to tell you makes me feel a little uneasy - but then I always feel a bit like that when I decide to outlay a significant lump of cash.

Anyway I have huge confidence that they will work out so my nerves will be unfounded I’m sure.

I’ll keep you posted as things develop.

Here is this week’s Dom’s Digest, full of cool things I’m interested in that I think could be fun or helpful for you.

App to Keep You on Schedule

Calendly.

Calendly is my go to app for managing my schedule.

If you ever had a meeting or telephone call with me it’s likely you booked your time through this app.

It allows you to take control of your schedule and pre populate specific times when you can be available for meetings or calls.

Rather than playing telephone tennis with someone over email to find a date and time to connect, I simply send my meeting participants to this app and it shows them a selection of available dates/times I can make and then allows them to book one.

Simple.

It even synchronises with my calendar app so as bookings or availability changes it is automatically reflected in the choices the participant gets to choose.

This has saved me tons of time and allows me to keep control of my schedule which is imperative if you want to implement efficiently.

Book To Build Trust

No B.S. Trust Based Marketing: The Ultimate Guide to Creating Trust in an Understandably Un-trusting World by Matt Zagula & Dan S. Kennedy.

It is without doubt that today’s buyer is more skeptical and hesitant to believe the promises you make about your product or service.

They’ve been bitten too many times before by misleading over-hyped marketing and now they tar all buying purchases with the same brush.

Even your ethical, great value product.

That’s why it’s even more important to learn how to rise above all the buzz of sleazy offers and humdrum pale promises.

This book from internationally recognised “millionaire maker” Dan S. Kennedy, joined by entrepreneur and financial consultant, Matt Zagula, shows you how to break down the barriers caused by the “trust no one” mantra invading every customer’s mind today.

It focuses on teaching you how to win back the trust of your prospects and how to not get bundled together with all the other “me too” offers and businesses out there.

In sales the old mantra has always been KNOW, LIKE, TRUST.

And in today’s world of infinite choice TRUST is the most important if you want a successful business.

Camera Gadget making My Videos Professional

DJI Osmo Pocket 3-Axis Gimbal Stabiliser with Integrated Camera

This clever little device from my favourite drone makers, DJI, has revolutionised my portable video studio.

It's a high resolution video camera with built in gimbal so even handheld it gives steady breathtaking shots.

It’s tiny and really lightweight so it easily slips in my case or pocket so can be used at a moment’s notice.

And because it’s a camera and gimbal combined you don’t have to connect up your phone to make it work (although you can for extra controls etc).

As it’s new it’s not cheap, but actually really good value when you compare it to other cameras in that market (like the GoPro) which don’t have an integrated gimbal. Also not all the accessories have been released for it yet, but it’s only a matter of time.

It’s a must if you do any video blogging or create videos for Facebook or YouTube. I’ve even been using it to take videos of the family on days out recently, replacing my precious iPhone as my main video camera.

As always, I love getting your feedback on Twitter and email. Did you have a favourite from the list? Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for me to try?

Don’t be shy, let me know. Just send a tweet to @dcb_jones with #DomsDigest at the end so I can find it or you can email me at dominicj@barttech.co.uk to get in touch.

Have a great week!
