This Week's Dom's Digest
Happy New Year!
I hope you had a fantastic festive break and managed to get some downtime with friends and family.
I'm looking forward to hitting 2019 with a bang!
This is my first week back "in the office" and my team and I are hard at work building the most useful resources for our community to make 2019 the best year ever.
I'll send you more info on that once it's live, but in the meantime here is a New Year kickstart themed Dom's Digest collection to start you in the right direction.
Enjoy.
Weekview Business Planner 2019 International.
I work a lot from apps these days, but I still find a paper planner essential for quick access and writing down my thoughts.
Sometimes it's just easier to grab a pen and jot a few things down, rather than open an app.
I've been using this one from Weekview for about 3 years (I buy the new one each year 🙂 ) and as planners go it is a good option for a good price.
Lots of big areas to write in and some nice sections to get your brain thinking about the right things.
Highly recommended especially if the start of 2019 is an app detox.
Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-free Productivity by David Allen.
A classic book which doesn't age.
I came across this book a couple of years ago when I felt that I had taken on too many projects across my businesses and was being swamped and overwhelmed.
A good friend of mine recommended it and I popped on Amazon and bought it during the conversation. And I'm glad I did.
David Allen has a myriad of techniques and ideas which help get your act together and achieve more than you thought possible.
I admit that I'm probably only using about a quarter of what the book mentions, but even that allows me to be massively more organised each and every day.
You Are A Badass 2019 Day-to-Day Calendar.
This desk calendar is produced by the author and productivity expert Jen Sincero. It's the "tear off the previous page" type and currently sits on my desk as I type this.
My wife bought me this for Christmas this year as I'd read a book by the same author earlier.
It's useful and a bit of fun.
Every day you have a nugget of inspiration, a kick up the bum or a fun game or brainteaser. Oh and it tells you the date! 🙂
If a daily burst of pep talk wouldn't go a miss (and who doesn't want that) then this is an ideal companion for your workspace.
As always, I love getting your feedback on Twitter and email. Did you have a favourite from the list? Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for me to try?
Don’t be shy, let me know. Just send a tweet to @dcb_jones with #DomsDigest at the end so I can find it or you can email me at dominicj@barttech.co.uk to get in touch.
Have a great week!
