This Week's Dom's Digest
Here we are with this edition of Dom’s Digest - a quick snapshot list of interesting stuff I’m enjoying or thinking about right now.
My team and I have been hard at work this week brainstorming all the ways we can deliver even more help, support and advice to our business community in 2019.
I believe we’ve got some great things on the cards, but if you feel there is something specific you could do with help with next year, feel free to send in a comment.
Next year is going to be epic and I want as many businesses to succeed as possible - it is your community after all, so get in touch!
On to the digest…
Nerf Laser Ops Pro Alphapoint Two Pack
Ok, so technically I’ve bought these for my kids for Christmas, but I think I’m probably going to get the most fun out of them.
These are Nerf’s laser blasters which are bound to give hours of fun around the house.
The Nerf Laser Ops Pro blasters give players everything they need to face off in head-to-head live-action laser battles.
The blasters feature lights and sounds, indicators to track health and ammo, quick-reload button, and unlimited ammo.
If you are a big kid at heart and don’t want to be picking up foam darts all day, then this is a must have toy for the home (or office).
This book was really eye opening for me.
Understanding that happiness isn't just an emotion; it's also the byproduct of chemical reactions in the brain.
This book provides simple ways to increase your brain's production of serotonin, dopamine, oxytocin and endorphin--without the use of medication.
Featuring easy-to-understand explanations, this guide will detail how these happy chemicals evolved through time as well as how you can build new happiness circuits and retrain your brain to find more gratification.
It not only explains why we feel the way we do, but also how we can train ourselves to feel more positive using a few simple exercises.
Omron M7 Intelli IT 360 Degree Accuracy Connected Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor
So as you may be aware, I’m starting to look after my health a lot better than in my heady youth.
Now that I limit my working hours each day, it allows me to look after myself a little better.
One of the core concepts I teach for business goals, is the need for metrics and the measurement of those indicators.
I’ve approached my health in the same way and this clever blood pressure monitor is part of my measuring toolkit.
It can cope with two different users and has an app which records the measurements so you get a trend on whether you’re improving or getting worse over time. It also synchronises the data with the Apple iOS Health app so all my health and fitness data is in one place.
This could be a life saving gadget which you can use in the comfort of your own home.
As always, I love getting your feedback on Twitter and email. Did you have a favourite from the list? Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for me to try?
Don’t be shy, let me know. Just send a tweet to @dcb_jones with #DomsDigest at the end so I can find it or you can email me at dominicj@barttech.co.uk to get in touch.
Have a great week!
