This Week's Dom's Digest

A very warm welcome to this week's Dom's Digest from a soggy Barton HQ!

In between dodging puddles and torrential downpours (I miss summer) we've been really busy this week gearing up for our most value driven Black Friday promotion ever.

If you've not heard about it, click here to claim your 38% lifetime discount on professional business IT support services for your business. We've already had hundreds claimed so don't miss out on yours. Visit the site now if you've not already to get the details.

Now it's time for your current Dom’s Digest. A quick snapshot list of interesting stuff I’m enjoying or thinking about right now. Enjoy and let me know your feedback!

The App Automating My Bookkeeping

Receipt Bank

This service and mobile app has really sped up how we deal with expense claims and bills in my business.

It connects to your cloud bookkeeping software and can accept bills/receipts via its email address, photos from the app and lots of other ways.

It then scans and reads the bill and enters it automatically into the bookkeeping software without you having to manually deal with it. And it keeps a digital version of the bill for up to 10 years meaning you can embrace a paperless office for all your bills/expenses.

Highly recommended!

Book I've Enjoye

Will It Fly? How to Test Your Next Business Idea So You Don't Waste Your Time and Money by Pat Flynn

I really enjoyed this book and it’s perfect if you have an idea for a new business, product or project but have been holding off because your unsure how it will fair.

Will It Fly takes you through some tests you can use to evaluate your idea and marketplace. Once you complete the exercises you should be closer to knowing if it will take off or crash and burn.

I especially liked Pat Flynn’s approach to planning and market research. In fact my wife and I both went through the exercise he describes to help us focus on what’s important in our future.

Useful read.

Food Gadget Keeping Me Healthier

Sedhoom 4-Blade Vegetable Spiralizer

My wife and I have been on a diet recently and one of my favourite meals is spaghetti or noodles, so cutting back on them has been hard.

This neat little kitchen tool makes easy noodle-like spirals out of vegetables. Carrots, peppers and sweet potato are my favourites.

Having the texture without the mass intake of carbs has really helped change our meals for the better.

Try one out and share any great recipes you find.

As always, I love getting your feedback on Twitter and email. Did you have a favourite from the list? Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for me to try?

Don’t be shy, let me know. Just send a tweet to @dcb_jones with #DomsDigest at the end so I can find it or you can email me at dominicj@barttech.co.uk to get in touch.

Have a great week!
